Summer Heat & News

Anyone else sick of the summer heat? It's hot! I'm ready for fall to get here. I've been getting alot of calls about family pictures and when the best time is to do them. Well I can't say that you aren't going to get hot and break a sweat but I would recommend late evening 7 pmish.

I have been working on a huge project this summer and that is the sports calendar that the Cheerleaders sell. I'm so excited. I can't wait for these to be available I think they will be selling them in the next 2 weeks!

My kids will be having games this year and I'm not missing them. I missed enough during the spring so everything will be scheduled around my family. I'm sorry for the inconvenience it might cause. But my kids are growing up quickly and I'm going to be with them as much as possible.

Have you seen the Phelps Dodge advertisements?

I didn't make the ads but I took all the pictures. If you walk by the community outreach building they have big posters in the window. That is a neat feeling. I always love walking in a place and seeing my work.

In other news...I will be getting swamped with families and seniors so if you are thinking about getting your pictures taken you should get booked soon because the weekends are already almost completely full. I will book 2 sessions on a Saturday. But I'm not booking on Sundays unless I absolutely have to that's my day with my family. Thanks for all your support I appreciate it.

Jessica's Story

Jessica is 6 years old and was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. Jessica is the daughter of Gordon and Sabrina Lewis. How can I describe Jessica? Well she is probably the funniest 6 year old I have ever met. She is full of spunk. She is beautiful. Her dark chocolate eyes can make you melt. She has a heart of gold. I can tell you that this isn't going to get her down. She is a fighter.
Jessica it was an amazing experience to meet you and to photograph you. You are beautiful inside and out. Thanks for coming in the studio and I'll see you soon.

Lemonade Stand for Jessica

We held a Lemonade for Jessica fundraiser in front of the studio. If you didn't catch it in the newspaper it was in there about Jourdyn and Aaliah. Amy came to the studio around 10 am to start getting ready and by 3 pm I think she was ready to pull her hair out. It was so hot and muggy and every 2 seconds you heard a kid yelling "LEMONADE FOR JESSICA". I'm telling you my daughter has a set of lungs you could here her 3 blocks away. After an afternoon 11-2:45 they raised over $300. I thought it was an awesome thing. To me it is an awesome feeling to be able to help out.
As for Jessica that girl is a fighter. She is beautiful funny and very intelligent. She will not let this get her down and she is going to be just fine. So thank you for your support.

Cheerleaders as baseball players?

Just wanted to clear something up I have had several calls about the middle school cheer picture in the newspaper. I think something was off on the printer because they really don't have black lines under them. You can view it online here http://blackwelljournaltribune.net/news.php?NewsSectionId=26

The Cinderella Story Anthony & Jonelle

Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity of photographing a great couple's wedding. Jonelle and Anthony after several years of being together have gotten married. Jonelle is such a sweetheart in fact she was my very very first senior. So I've watched her grow. My husband has been friends with both of them for along time so we have watched them grow together in what will continue to be an amazing couple.

The theme of the wedding was Cinderella it was a beautiful wedding. Here are a few shots of the wedding. I do have to say that the bridesmaids dress were so pretty well everything was. The cake oh my goodness it was delicious the best I have ever had. It was made by Laura Sheik from A Sweet Success. I'm telling you that cake was amazing.

Oh girls just want fun!

Baseball anyone?

Today I had the opportunity to work with the chamber on a project that could be big for Blackwell. Disney is looking for a place to shoot a movie with a baseball field with corn in the background. So here it is I stitched this together to have a big view of the hopeful shooting grounds for the movie.
Here it is.

How about when they are finished shooting fishing or swimming? Fishing would be a better thing. While shooting we seen a snake 3 feet in front of us eek! I didn't see it my son and little helper did.

So maybe just maybe a Disney movie could be filmed here.

Independence Day Vacation yea right.

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I'd like to thank our troops for fighting for my freedom.
My 4th weekend was suppose to be my vacation weekend however I ended up working! On Friday I took pictures for a local company for there magazine publishing. Then we enjoyed the outstand fireworks show! I have to say that this years fireworks were great compared to past years! At 4am we headed to pick up 2 of my kids at Turner Falls. Then we went to the Sam Noble musuem in Norman if you haven't been there we really enjoyed it. Then we were off for some pizza at Incredibles it was alright but I don't think we will go back. Then off to Bricktown. It was so hot I could smell all of us idiots standing in line 3 hours early we all smelled like a wrestling room or something I definately wasn't sure that day. We waited in line forever finally 5:32 they opened the gate. We each got our Mickey Mantle Statue and headed to find our seats just to find some baseball card collector was sitting in my seat. Ok I'm drenched in sweat and this fellow who doesn't have a ticket is in my seat get out buddy! So I got him out of my seat and we sat down it was so hot so I decide to get us lemonade and some popcorn. Talk about high prices 2 drinks and popcorn 16 bucks man I could have had a nice juicy steak for that. So finally game time Braden caught a foul ball, Aaliah got handed a foul ball by the manager and I caught a t-shirt! It was a great game a lot of fun and we enjoyed it. Chantelle fell asleep waiting for it to start we were all exhausted. Then we went to the OKC Memorial it was pretty crowded for it to be right about midnight. Then we headed home because thats all we could take! Sunday we were back at it we were going to have our celebration since the kids were gone. I enjoyed my time away but it was not nearly long enough.
